Friday morning started out just fine, I was running a little late...but these days, that seems to be normal. I hit the road and about 15 minutes into the trip, my car started to shake. I called Dave, who was already at the airport (2 hours away)...left a message and called my dad. Said it could be a tire, but wasn't sure. Dave called back and said it was probably the road. I was just praying I could make it to the airport. I drove a while longer, and heard a thump and saw a huge piece of tire hit the passenger side of my car. I pulled over, and the entire tread was off my tire in the rear. Lovely. Called Dave and my dad. Called the tow company and waited. Plan was, I was going to have the car towed back to town, then get my MIL car and get back on the road....
While waiting, a trucker stopped...that's just scary. Luckily, he kept his distance and didn't come over. Then a Highway Patrolman stopped and waited with me until the tow truck came. We made it back to town, Stefany picked me up and we ran up to the house for the other car...but no keys. Luckily they had fixed the tires fast...finally, back on the road. Didn't make my initial flight, but caught one a few hours later. And did you know, if you miss your flight and can still show up at the airport within 2 hours, they won't charge you?? That was nice.
We had a great weekend. Dinner Friday night, up early for graduation on Saturday. We then headed to Lake Tahoe for the afternoon. Trav hung out with some friends, and from there we had dinner at a fabulous restaurant called Fire and Ice.
