Dance the Magic - Parade Time!

The parade was in the afternoon, and it was REALLY fast. Dave chuckled that we did all this for 30 seconds. But it was worth it. The girls got to see a few characters along the way, then spent a good part of the afternoon practicing in a "secret secret location." 

The mom's and I watched the first parade and then staked out spots so we could see our dancers go by for the second parade. Wow. When they said we would have to do this a few hours early I didn't believe them....but it was sooo true! 

Finally it was dance time and the Magic began. We saw Addie toward the beginning of the parade and she was definitely concentrating and trying to find us. She didn't, but we saw her. We didn't get a lot of smiles, but others along the parade were able to capture some. Next year (yes, she is doing it again) we will go further down Main Street so she has time to relax). I am also going to set my camera on continuous so I can really get a good picture.

After all the dancers, the parade started. Mickey and Minnie, Santa, everyone was there. I said it before, but Disney does Christmas well!!!

After the parade, the girls were taken back to the secret secret place to change out of their costumes and back into their company uniform. Addie was exhausted and hungry but beaming.

She and I headed back to the room so she could change and drop her bag off before we met Dave, Jackson, grandma and grandpa for dinner.

Disney's Dance the Magic

All this fall, Addie and her Company team were gearing up for their parade performance down Disney's Main Street. Whew! The day we headed out, Dave turned 40, so it was a bit of some organized/unorganized chaos getting down there without forgetting any of her uniform and costume pieces. 

Grandma and Grandpa B beat us there by a little bit, but we all headed down to Downtown Disney to celebrate Dave's birthday!

Everyone was tired, but thank goodness they were willing to smile for me. I don't think I've ever been to Disneyland at Christmas time...wow! If you're not already in the mood, it's hard to keep it away.

Saturday morning was busy. Breakfast didn't come like it was supposed to, so Dave took care of that. Addie was the one who really needed to eat, since she didn't get to eat again before the parade (only snacks from her backpack). Addie needed to be "stage ready" (who ever thought I would EVER have that phrase in my vocabulary??) when we got to Disneyland. I never know how this will go because curling her hair is not her most favorite thing. But, our morning went off without a hitch!!!

We had fun snapping pictures on our way to keep her calm.

We met the team at the front of the park, and you could feel their excitement.

From where we met, the team walked to another part of the park to meet up with their guide who took them to a super secret location. I loved how they made the girls all connect to one another so no one got lost in the park.

The girls changed into their costumes when they got to the super secret location and it was practice for game time from there.
