Water balloon fight!!!

Jackson and Addison have decided that water balloons will always be a staple every summer from now on. And since we discovered the thing that lets you fill 100 balloons at once, I am all for them. So are they!

More fishing and rides in July

They both love fishing, and we definitely had a good amount of it. It was nice to see Jackson and Addison actually working together some. I wish it happened more than it does...one day.

I think I had a pretty good view from where I was sitting.

I absolutely loved the mud. He was oblivious to it. But between the mud and the fish, I was definitely glad we had access to a washing machine. Can you imagine if all of that sat on those pants for days??

We also took a jeep ride while we were at the cabin. Everyone had a good time, and I only panicked a little (I really don't like it when all four wheels are not even on the ground). Since I couldn't hike, I didn't make it down to where they went (I guess there was a small waterfall there). But that's okay. I liked my view. 

They did not want to sit close to one another, but they did.

Addie got a quick driving lesson while Dave loaded the jeep back up before we packed up.

Still all smiles as we started the drive home.

Cabin adventures in July

Over the week of the 4th of July, we headed to the cabin to try and escape the heat. I say try because the rain didn't start until after we left the cabin to cool things down. But that's okay, it was still better than the 115+ that we have at home. We took both dogs and they travelled really well. Kids were super excited to get to take them.

Not only did everyone get A LOT of fishing in, but Dave and the kiddos got to go horseback riding. I took pictures and read my book while they went. I was about a week out from my walking boot (a whole different story) and wasn't allowed to hike or anything like that. We figured that horseback riding was more like hiking than just walking around. I wasn't taking any chances. 

They love this spot. The horses are there from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We typically take the kiddos each time we are there. Addie would jump at the chance to have her own horse...in fact she has a plan that she is getting a horse on her 16th birthday instead of a car. It's good to have dream's, right?? 

They are led on the trail by a guide, and they do a good job of matching the horses with the rider.

And the fishing. They fished the river and the creek by the cabin. I took pictures and enjoyed watching them get dirty and perfect their craft.

Jackson got good at getting the hooks out of the fish so they could be thrown back. They all had fun showing me how they blow up the worm as they attach it to the hook.

Does it get any better than this??
