So I have been trying since February to get pictures taken of the kids. I need to have Addison's one year pictures taken, and hopefully get a good shot of the two of them together. It is now almost May, and it hasn't happened yet. We had the illnesses, and then the spots. I have had then scheduled twice now. The first time we canceled because Jackson didn't take a nap...trust me...no good smile comes of that! The second time we canceled because Addison tumbled at my parents house and had a huge scab on her nose.
So this week was going well....I scheduled pictures for this morning. Last night, Dave and Jackson get home from picking up the pizza and Dave tells me he bruised our son....I looked at him, and he said Jackson walked into a door. And wouldn't you know it...the bruise is right in the middle of his forehead. Then, as I was putting Addison down for bed, I noticed she had scratched her nose again.
So with scratches and bruises we are going ahead with our pictures today. Kids will be kids...and I want to capture them in their fullness!!!

A conversation with Jackson.
Jackson: "I just ate a booger."
Mom: "That's gross."
At this point, Jackson jumps on the couch behind his red chair which he has perched on the couch and exclaims in a very serious voice, "I love boogers. They are my favorite snack!"
Gotta love it...definitely don't understand it!

He's growing up.
Every once in a while, it hits me how big my kids are getting. This morning it was all about Jackson. Jackson is a very, very busy kid! He loves to get into and onto everything, even things that I didn't know it was possible for him to get into. He is inquisitive and curious. That curiousity helps keep him going....sometimes ALL DAY LONG. Well, this morning about 8am he started playing with his Fisher Price Little People. Not just banging them around, but really using his imagination and playing. It is now 10:31, and he is STILL playing with them. They have been driven all around the play room....It is so exciting to see him engage in this kind of imaginative play...and I got a shower, the laundry started and the kitchen cleaned up! My little guy is growing up!!!

Happy Easter!!!!
Happy Easter!!! We spent the weekend in Tucson with my family at my sister's and her husband's house. What a great time we had. We got in Friday early afternoon and were able to head to the park for some time of running against the wind...literally. It was so windy that it almost knocked Addison down. But she didn't seem to mind, she was more interested in trying to scale anything she could get her little legs on. Jackson was just giddy to be able to run. He gets so cooped up in the car! I sure wish time travel was real...it would be money super well spent!
Saturday morning found us at the Tucson Children's Museum. This was the first time we have ever taken the kids to a museum, and they did very well. There was a dinosaur room, an ocean room, a builder room, and a train room just to name a few. It was totally geared for young kids, which was awesome! Much to my dismay, we didn't get naps from Jackson, and Addison's nap left much to be desired...but that's what happens when we travel. Some friends from college came over with their little girl and we all dyed Easter eggs and had dinner. It was great to catch up and watch the kids play together.
Saturday also marked a big day for Jackson's godparents. They welcomed their baby girl, Zoe, into the world! Congratulations!!! We can't wait to meet her. What an Easter gift!
Sunday morning we went to church, and when we came home we found that the Easter bunny had visited Aunt Tara's and Uncle Ed's house. The baskets and easter egg hunt were over in a flash. We had lunch, and then it was time to hit the road. I don't know why it always takes longer to get home than it does to get there. We had a great visit!!!! Enjoy the pics....

Spring is in the air.
We have been enjoying the great weather here! In fact, besides the wind, this is one of my favorite times of year. Jackson and Addison are loving playing outside...especially finding all of the bugs that seem to have taken up residence outside.
We went to the Fair last weekend. Addison had a great time exploring, and Jackson would have loved to drive away in the kid-size Ranger. We got to see the animals, and walked through the exhibit room. I was told later that there was a poster from Jackson's school...but we missed it. By the time we got in there, our attention spans were waining.

Exploring...
Driving away in the Ranger at the Fair! (Dave only wishes he had one of these....)
